MA MOW WE TAK

What does it mean?
In a nutshell it means "meeting" or "a coming together". To a dog musher there is added significance. In the early days there were lots of dog teams around. They had many uses and duties including trapping, hunting, fishing and carrying all kinds of goods back and forth, hauling supplies and delivering mail (known as the Hudson Bay Packet). Whenever a group of dog mushers would meet up they might stop, boil-up some tea or coffee, have a chat and enjoy each others' company. This "coming together" of dog mushers on the trail was known as a "ma mow we tak".
This is why we chose our name.
